Bute Creek is full of phrases and words that you may not have heard before, especially if you are not Australian or haven't visited us yet!

Australianisms are "a linguistic usage, custom or other feature peculiar to or characteristic of Australia, its people, or their culture".

There are words that are commonly used by some Aboriginal people, a taste of Australian rhyming slang and some Scottish expressions too!

The names of places and Traditional Owners should also test your pronunciation skills!
